Il Divo have consistently released albums since the success of their first two, including a christmas album. The album included a duet with Céline Dion, on 'I Believe in You' and a Spanish version of Secret Garden's 'You Raise Me Up.' In the US it entered the Billboard Charts at number one, selling over 150,000 copies in a week.
Their second album, 'Ancora' was released in 2005, becoming a number one hit in the UK and Australia within a week. Recorded in Sweden, the album featured renditions of Sinatra's 'My Way' and toni Braxton's 'Unbreak My Heart.' The album was a huge success, becoming certified multi-platinum and reaching number one on 13 countries around the world, top five in 25 countries. The band started recording for their first album in 2004, as their self-titled debut. Following auditions, French pop singer Sébastien Izambard, Spanish baritone Carlos Marin, American tenor David Miller and Swiss tenor Urs Bühler were chosen to form the band, recreating the style of The Three Tenors.
Following a growing appreciation of male voices in a classical style, SImon Cowell deeded to form a vocal group, to be signed to his record label, Syco Music.
